RCSN has just launched The Bronx & The Manhattan Parent Centers Without Walls!
The New York State Education Department (NYSED) selected RCSN to partner with Advocates for Children of New York (AFC), in Manhattan and the Bronx, and the Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA), in the Bronx, to help parents of children with special needs understand their rights, learn how to obtain evaluations and direct services for their children, and how to become more confident and effective advocates.
The Centers offer:
- Workshops and information sessions, in Spanish and English, at schools and community organizations
- Direct assistance -- in person or by telephone -- for families in understanding, preparing, or obtaining appropriate educational services
- Skilled bilingual (Spanish/English) staff, with significant experience in all aspects of public education from Early Intervention through transition to adulthood
We encourage you to refer families to us for direct assistance, and to bring us to your organization to speak with your parents and staff. All services are free.
