RCSN is excited to begin two collaborative projects in 2010.
We'll be teaming up with Mental Health Association (MHA) NYC's Family Resource Centers and the NYC Department of Education (DOE) Empowerment Schools: Bridges for Learning Network to provide critical services to families of children with mental health or other special needs, preventing disconnection, alleviating stress, and helping students succeed.
With MHA-NYC's Family Resource Centers in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens, RCSN will provide free trainings to families of children with emotional or behavioral issues, and individual consultations with both Family Resource Center staff and families. As a part of NYC DOHMH's Family Support Services program, RCSN will help families meet their children's educational needs and access community resources, like family support groups, respite, recreation, and youth peer services.
RCSN is also working with the Bridges for Learning Schools - a network of NYC DOE's Empowerment Schools - in the new year. We'll provide staff and parents at Bridges’ 23 schools with individualized information and referrals for early intervening services, plus group trainings on special education issues from early childhood through transition to adulthood. This partnership will help parents and staff find the right afterschool and summer programs, tutoring, family support services and a variety of other community resources.
We're proud to be joining these two great organizations in improving the lives of New York families. You can contact us here for more information.
