Details: The National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City, Inc. (NAMI-NYC Metro) presents their monthly lunch hour youth conference call series - this time focusing on postsecondary options. This call will cover alternatives to the traditional high school and college routes and will include information about non-traditional high school opportunities in New York City, as well as post-high school educational and vocational programs other than the traditional college experience. Factors in working toward independence for youth and young adults will be discussed from the parental, professional, and young adult perspectives.

Helene is the Associate Director of Resources for Children with Special Needs. She has provided guidance to parents and professionals in the area of transition for over 25 years, and is a co-author of Transition Matters: from School to Independence.
