The Inter-Agency Council (IAC) presents their professional development course called, "Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP)." This course certifies trainees to administer medications in OMRDD-funded residential and day programs.  This course covers the responsibilities of AMAP certification, common medications, side effects, rights and responsibilities of administering medication, measurement of vital signs, and common abbreviations used in the medical field.

According to IAC, trainees must attend each day and must score 80% on exams. Final certification follows successful demonstration of skills at trainee's agency, supervised by agency nurse. All trainees should have an AMAP text book for their own use. Trainees should either bring an AMAP book from the agency, or check the "Purchase Book" checkbox. The book costs $20.

Registration costs $85.  Please click here to register for this course.
