The Board of Regents has approved for permanent adoption the amendment of section 100.5 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education relating to diploma requirements for students with disabilities. 

The amended regulations extend the existing Regents Competency Test (RCT) safety net for an additional year to make it available to all students with disabilities entering grade 9 prior to September 2011 (i.e., students with disabilities entering grade 9 in the 2010-11 school year).
