Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The White House will hold an event today to commemorate the anniversary. You can watch it live starting at 6PM today on the White House Live website.
The event will include performances by Nathaniel Anthony Ayers, Patti LaBelle and Marlee Matlin, and remarks by Marca Bristo, President of Access Living, White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Melody Barnes.
Also, starting July 30th, you can watch the webcast of the US Department of Justice's July 23rd ADA celebration, which included presentations by Attorney General Eric Holder, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Thomas Perez, and a panel discussion with ADA experts who played significant roles in the development and passage of the ADA: Bob Burgdorf, Yoshiko Dart, Chai Feldblum, Arlene Mayerson, and Bobby Silverstein.
